Team BDS to part ways with MaRc_By_8; Vatira made primary target
Team BDS are set to part ways with Marc "MaRc_By_8" Domingo ahead of the Spring Split. The organization has lined up Team Queso star Axel "Vatira." Touret as their primary target to replace the departing Spanish player.
As one of the most successful rosters in Rocket League history, Team BDS have set the example for all to follow these past two years. They have four Major wins to their name including the studio based LAN major back in the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split. Yet, in recent events the team has suffered a small downturn in form and since their defeat in the RLCS X European Championship, the team’s dominance has waned. At this moment last season, Team BDS had four regional wins to their name and won both the Fall and Winter Split Majors, but this season the roster has only racked up one regional and one major win. The team’s weaknesses were highlighted during the recent Winter Major where they came 7th-8th after suffering a perfect sweep defeat to FaZe Clan. As a result, the organization is seeking to make a change by parting ways with long-standing member MaRc_By_8 and moving to an all-French lineup, bringing an end to the roster that secured Team BDS an era of dominance in Rocket League Esports.
Team BDS have begun the search for a new addition to their squad with Team Queso star Vatira leading the pack as the favourite to join the roster. Having just come off a career defining team performance during the Winter Major, alongside Finlay "rise." Ferguson and Joe "Joyo'' Young, Vatira is seen in high regard by much of the professional scene. For the 2021-22 season, Vatira has a player rating of 1.038 with averages of 0.73 goals and 1.87 saves a game. Across the 52 games he played during the Winter Major, his player rating improved to a 1.058, an impressive improvement considering this was the young Frenchman's first RLCS LAN event. Vatira’s potential departure from Team Queso means that the roster may have to undergo a rebuild having also parted ways with coach Nicholas "Nick" Marrone in recent days.
While Vatira leads as the primary target for Team BDS heading into the Spring Split, he is one of many on a shortlist. Subsequently, Team BDS will be exploring other options before the transfer window closes. The organization has enquired about the availability of Enzo "Seikoo" Grondein from Endpoint after his rise to fame under the British organization this season, but talks between the two parties remain in their infancy.
If the move goes through, the Team BDS roster for the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Split is expected to consist of:
🇫🇷 Alex "Extra" Paoli
🇫🇷 Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez
🇫🇷 Axel "Vatira." Touret
