SK Gaming To Sign Scrub Killa, Nass, and Rxii For RLCS 2022-2023
After an underwhelming RLCS ‘21-’22, revered esports organization SK Gaming is looking to rebuild. They’ve set their sights on the trio of Kyle "Scrub Killa" Robertson, Nass, and Raimon "Rxii" Falgueras for the 2022-2023 season.
SK Gaming began the year with the promising roster of eekso, Tox, and Yukeo, who formed late in RLCS X and finished 5-6th in Europe’s Spring Split, including a 3-4th placement in the European Spring Major. There was genuine buzz around SK Gaming going into the ‘21-’22 season; that buzz died quickly, as the team peaked at Top 8 regionally and disbanded by the end of the Fall Split. Two weeks after SK released their roster, they returned with a new trio of Ekon, Keiran, and Fruity. That team only recorded 80 points in two splits, appearing in just a single regional.
SK’s third attempt at conquering the RLCS comes with another new roster, and they’ve brought on one of the game’s all-time greats to lead the charge. Widely known as Rocket League’s first prodigy, Scrub Killa’s legacy has been sewn into the fabric of the game since he was in elementary school. A former World Champion and Finalist, Scrub enjoyed a successful run in the Fall and Winter splits with Dignitas until reverse sweeps at the hands of Spacestation and Evil Geniuses in Los Angeles sent the team into a spiral they never truly recovered from. Alongside Scrub is Rxii, who spent the past year teaming with another legend of the game, kuxir97, under Kuxir’s Minions, and consistently made regionals towards the end of the year. Rounding out the roster is Nass, a relatively unknown 15-year old who’s rumoured to be a terror in ranked 2s, which is, of course, the #1 indicator of talent in the esport.
As of now, the projected SK Gaming roster will be:
