Gen.G looking to expand into Rocket League Esports

Gen.G Esports are looking to build a title-contending roster in North America over the offseason and have not ruled out importing talents from other regions to do so. The organization is also looking to work with Rocket League content creators as they expand into the esport.

Gen.G Esports have foundations in three major esport markets — North America, China and Korea

Established in 2017 as a Korean esports organization, Gen.G has successfully built several well-known rosters across the esports landscape both domestically in Korea and across the Pacific in North America. Most famously, the organization currently boasts one of the strongest League of Legends teams in the world featuring players such as Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk and Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon who are currently vying for the LCK Summer 2022 title. Gen.G also operate the Seoul Dynasty brand in the Overwatch League and have managed North American rosters in both Valorant and Counter Strike Global Offensive in recent years. The organization was ranked sixth most valuable esports organization in the world by Forbes in 2020 and represents a major powerhouse in the scene.

In recent times, Gen.G has allowed its Valorant team to explore their options due to increasing uncertainty surrounding Valorant partnership process which has opened the way for a new esport to be the centerpiece for Gen.G’s North American division. The organization has targeted Rocket League as its next destination and will explore the ever increasing free agent pool over the offseason, including players from other regions, to build a team capable of winning championships. Gen.G are also looking to bring onboard several Rocket League content creators to join up with well-known streamers such as Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek and Jessica Kim. This will be Gen.G’s first foray into Rocket League Esports and they will join the likes of Moist Esports, Natus Vincere and Luminosity Gaming to have entered the esport in the past year.
