Karmine Corp preparing to rebuild around Itachi
Karmine Corp is looking to rebuild around current star Amine "itachi" Benayachi heading into RLCS 2022-23. The French organization is expected to part ways with Maëllo "AztraL" Ernst while Joseph "noly" Kidd has been allowed to explore his options in the offseason.
Karmine Corp first entered Rocket League Esports in July 2021 with the signings of AztraL, Stake and Itachi
Karmine Corp ended RLCS 2021-22 strongly by bringing onboard noly as a replacement for Marc "Stake" Bosch back in April 2022. The team managed to place 4th in the European Spring rankings after three regionals and qualify for the London Major. There they made an impressive run beating the likes of FURIA and G2 Esports to achieve a 4th place finish. Ultimately, Karmine Corp’s solid form towards the end of the season allowed them to qualify for the Wildcard portion of the RLCS 2021-22 World Championship where they swept aside the opposition with a 3-0 record. In the group stage they beat Team Falcons and Optic Gaming in the lower bracket to make the playoffs, where they were narrowly beaten 4-3 by the event winners Team BDS. Karmine Corp showed huge potential towards the end of the season, but the organization has chosen to make changes.
Following a year of consistent performances at the top level, Itachi will be the focal point of Karmine Corp’s rebuild this offseason. The Moroccan enjoyed a period of good form towards the end of last season averaging a 1.08 octane.gg rating at the RLCS 2021-22 World Championship. After 13 months together, the organization will part ways with AztraL this summer with the aim to refresh internally. The Belgian is expected to enter free agency next month.
Despite only signing with Karmine Corp in April 2022, noly has been allowed to explore his options and is likely to leave this offseason. However, he could remain a starter on roster depending upon the decisions made internally by the organization in the coming weeks. Noly averaged an octane.gg rating of 1.02 during his time on the roster.
