NAVI weighing up its options following RLCS 2021-22
Natus Vincere (NAVI) are aiming to overhaul their roster following a dismal end to the RLCS 2021-22 season. Luis "LuiisP" Puente Peña is currently in negotiations with the organization to stay on the lineup and rebuild the team over the offseason.
Natus Vincere qualified for six regional events this season.
NAVI entered the space back in October 2021 by signing the Fadeaway lineup featuring Maik "Tigreee" Hoffmann, Lorenzo "Dead-Monster" Tongiorgi and LuiisP. Despite qualifying for the first Fall regional, the roster struggled to get off the ground over the split resulting in the signing of Nelson "virtuoso" Lasko to replace the departing Dead-Monster in January. The team did improve slightly and managed their highest placement of the season with a 9th-12th at the Winter Regional #2. While improvements had been made, the team failed to really breach the top echelons of European Rocket League. During the Spring Split, NAVI started to falter, qualifying for only one regional event before a dramatic exit from the final closed qualifier of the season. The resulting fallout from this loss on Twitter put the nail in the coffin for the long term future of the roster.
While NAVI has been heavily impacted by the war in Ukraine, the organization continues to operate across the esports scene having moved portions of its workforce and operational staff away from the warzone. Its Rocket League division represents only a small part of the organization and it wouldn’t be a surprise if NAVI departed the esport. However, LuiisP remains in negotiations with the organization to rebuild the roster for next season by bringing in two new additions to the team, but only time will tell.
