XSET set to move forward with Rapid and Evoh
After an underwhelming end to the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Split, XSET are looking to move forward with current starter Jalen "rapid" Parker and young prodigy Evoh who they signed back in April. Jacob "JPow" Powell looks set to leave the organization while Oliver "percy." Kenneth Ortiz could keep his spot depending on a number of factors.
XSET ended RLCS Season 2021-22 ranked 12th in North America
XSET emerged as a top 10 North American squad back in RLCS Season X and continued performing to that level throughout the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split after replacing Austin "AlphaKep" Kepner with percy in July 2021. Things took a turn during the Winter Split as results began to plateau with Colby "hockser" James eventually parting ways with the organization to sign with rivals Ghost Gaming. As a replacement, XSET decided to bring in rapid from Shopify Rebellion but the team was only able to qualify for one Spring Regional and ended the Split ranked 18th in Spring, their worst placement of the season. During this period, XSET managed to secure the services of Evoh, an emerging talent, before he had come of age for the RLCS. Evoh will be eligible for next season and XSET are looking to build around him and rapid heading forward.
Tryouts have already begun for the final spot on the roster with percy leading the way, however, he has the option to leave the team if he wishes to explore his options elsewhere. JPow looks set to part ways with the organization and is already playing alongside Jayden "2Piece" Horton and Nick "Chronic" Iwanski under Randoms for the Seasonal Shootout: Season 9 Premier League. The rebuild is in its early days but XSET are clearly looking to develop Evoh into a leading star, another example of the growing interest in young talents across the professional scene.
