Moist Esports are expected to sign archie to replace Vatira

Only days after announcing the departure of Axel “Vatira” Touret, Moist Esports are set to sign Archie “archie” Pickthall to complete the roster. With Vatira leaving Moist Esports, and reportedly joining French organization Karmine Corp, one of last season’s most successful teams was left looking for one more player. They found their man in archie, creating an all-English roster alongside Finlay “rise.” Ferguson and Joe “Joyo” Young.

Moist Esports finished 5th-8th at the World Championship last season after entering as the number one overall seed and sky-high favorites. They lost game seven in heartbreaking fashion to FURIA Esports on Championship Sunday, falling short in one of the most highly-rated RLCS series ever played. Moist Esports were runners-up in the Winter Major before going on to win the Spring Major, where Joyo was named MVP. They also won three regional events throughout the season, two in the Winter Split and one in the Spring Split.

Replacing Vatira will be no easy task, as he was the European RLCS MVP last season, as well as the Spring Major Defensive MVP. His strong play at both ends of the field was critical to Moist Esports’ success, as he led the team in Octane.gg Rating, saves per game, and assists per game at both the Spring Major and the World Championship.

At the start of the season, archie played on SMPR Esports, where his strong play led them to the Fall Major and a top four finish at the event. He’s also no stranger to replacing a French superstar, as he completed his season on loan with Endpoint CeX and replaced Enzo “Seikoo” Grondein on the roster. The Brit led Endpoint to Spring Major and World Championship berths, where they finished 13th-16th in both events. The English star is a multi-faceted player much like Vatira, as he led Endpoint in goals per game at the Spring Major and saves per game at the World Championship.

The Moist Esports roster expected going forward will consist of:

  • 🇬🇧 Archie “archie” Pickthall

  • 🇬🇧 Finlay “rise.” Ferguson

  • 🇬🇧 Joe “Joyo” Young

  • 🇬🇧 Noah “noah” Hinder (coach)
