Complexity To Complete Cross-Region Transfer For crr
In a move that has been speculated on for the last several weeks, former Guild Esports member Cristian "crr" Fernandez will be making a cross-regional transfer from his home European region to North America. He will be replacing Facundo "Shad" Vallerino for the 2022-23 RLCS season. The Spaniard is set to become the second European player to make the move from Europe to North America after Pierre "Turbopolsa" Silfver’s legendary move to NRG. It also becomes the first time a European player has joined a roster with two South American players.
The move is a positive sign for Rocket League esports, as it is an indicator of the game’s upward momentum toward becoming an undisputed Tier 1 esport. It proves that large organizations such as Complexity are willing to import talent for the sake of winning, and are committed to the esport long-term. Making a cross-region transfer entails moving the player and ensuring their living situations and well-being are taken care of, which is a significant financial and time investment; Complexity has now done that with four different pros.
On the pitch, Complexity had a hot start of the season, finishing top eight in Sweden before regressing to a mid-table squad in the latter parts of the season. Bringing in crr could be a welcome spark for the team, especially paired with Victor "Reysbull" Duran Parra. Both players emerged in the Spring as the best player on their respective teams, and impressed in Ridayh during Gamers8 where they played the 1v1s for their teams. It was crr in particular who broke out as a star, carrying Guild to the Grand Final of the $2 million LAN.
The Complexity Gaming roster for 2022 will most likely be:
🇪🇸 Cristian "crr" Fernandez
🇦🇷 Lautaro "ajg" Gusinsky
🇨🇱 Victor "Reysbull" Duran Parra
