Detonator look to sign Lunatic

After a successful Winter Split, DeToNator are looking to replace Kenyo "OLPiX" Ito with SHIROGANE player Lunatic

For the Spring Split, DeToNator looks to play with a new third, in place of OLPiX. While there were other contenders, like Krilin, DeToNator have mainly been trying out Lunatic for the vacant position. During the Winter Split, Lunatic played on SHIROGANE, a new team that pushed into the top four in the first and second Regional. On DeToNator, Lunatic will have to perform to an even higher standard.

Throughout the RLCS 2021-22 Winter Split, DeToNator have solidified their place in the top three of Asia-Pacific North. The Japanese roster, consisting of Shoki "Burn" Minamigawa, Shun "mikan" Yokota and Olpix, battled every Regional with Tokyo Verdy Esports and Nimmt55 as their main rivals. These top-three placements got them good points, but perhaps it wasn’t the breakthrough they hoped for. That breakthrough came when they narrowly beat Tokyo Verdy in the Grand Finals of the APAC Qualifiers for a spot in the Winter Major in Los Angeles. The upset over Tokyo Verdy meant that they got the experience of playing against the best teams from all the other regions. They even managed to take a game off FaZe Clan, the team that ended up in fourth place at the Major.

When it comes RLCS points, Tokyo Verdy are still quite far ahead of DeToNator and the rest. But DeToNator seem to be making moves to at least increase their chances of beating the top dog in APAC North.

The DeToNator roster for the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Split is expected to consist of:

  • 🇯🇵 Shoki "Burn" Minamigawa

  • 🇯🇵 Shun "mikan" Yokota

  • 🇯🇵 Lunatic

  • 🇯🇵 Yu "Nunki" Kunda (coach)
