Vitality in advanced talks with AztraL and zen heading into RLCS 2022-23
Following the disappointing season of Team Vitality, the organization is in talks with Maëllo "AztraL" Ernst and Alexis "zen" Bernier. They hope to regain the dominance they once held over both the European region and the world. Should the roster move occur, another French-speaking super team will become favorites for dethroning BDS as Europe's best.
AztraL has been a player with many question marks throughout the season. Has AztraL fallen off? Will he be able to replicate his season 9 performance? These questions were unanswered until Joseph "noly" Kidd joined him and Amine "itachi" Benayachi entering the Spring Split. This roster addition has enabled AztraL to bring back the mechanical prowess he once held. It led to a top-four finish in the Spring Major and a top-eight finish in the World Championships.
In 2020, zen made the mistake of playing in an RLCS Closed Qualifier while underage and on another player's account. As a consequence, he was banned from RLCS for a year when he turned 15, in February 2022. However, this did not stop him from getting on the radar of many pro players. Alongside consistently topping the ranked leaderboards, zen has won multiple Urban Series LANs and online tournaments against notable players. Although many are comparing zen and Daniel from SSG, some pro players believe he may have an even more significant impact. Regardless, zen is still not allowed to play till February due to his actions.
If both players join Team Vitality, AztraL would most likely replace Alexandre "Kaydop" Courant, while zen waits until February for the ban to subside.
