Williams Resolve expected to sign FlamE, Breezi and noahsaki
After protracted negotiations, Williams Resolve have reached an agreement to sign the players George "Breezi" Rusiecki, Jack "FlamE" Pearton and Noah "noahsaki" Gillespie who formed as a team earlier in the offseason. Ethan "Ethzn" Laughland will continue to coach the team under Williams Resolve.
FlamE and Breezi placed 12th in the RLCS 2021-22 European rankings
Following the partnership between Resolve Esports and Williams Racing to form Williams Resolve, the organization entered Rocket League esports with the signing of Pierre "pryyme" Binet, Thiméo "saizen" Corcuff and Andrea "Radosin" Radovanović from Atlantide Wave in September 2021. During both the Fall and Winter Splits of RLCS 2021-22, the team proved to be a competitive roster and were 12th in the European rankings before the Spring Split. However, on April 6th, the organization announced the departure of Radosin who had been signed by Team Vitality as a replacement for the benched Victor "Fairy Peak!" Locquet. While Williams Resolve were able to bring in veteran Marc "Stake" Bosch Plujà, internal issues between the players caused the team’s form to collapse with coach Rix "Rix_Ronday" Ronday forced to stand-in for saizen during the final closed qualifier of the Split.
As a result of the team’s collapse, Williams Resolve allowed the remaining members of the roster to explore their options heading into the offseason. A rebuild was in order so the organization decided to bring Euan "Tadpole" Ingram onboard as team manager in August. Tadpole had recently retired from the professional scene following four years of competition at the highest level with his last tournament coming at the Commonwealth Esports Championships, where he won a gold medal for Wales.
With Tadpole at the helm, Williams Resolve considered several different rosters over the offseason and were targeting Joseph "noly" Kidd and Jack "ApparentlyJack" Benton before losing out to other interested parties.
The organization ultimately decided to go with the former 00 Nation duo of Breezi and FlamE, who recently linked up with the young mechanical player noahsaki following his short stint on Heroic. The full British roster is expected to comfortably sit in Europe’s top 16 and should compete for playoff placements across RLCS 2022-23. While the roster might struggle for major qualification, it contains the right balance of experience and potential to challenge some of the best.
The Williams Resolve roster is set to consist of:
🇬🇧 George "Breezi" Rusiecki
🇬🇧 Jack "FlamE" Pearton
🇬🇧 Noah "noahsaki" Gillespie
🇬🇧 Ethan "Ethzn" Laughland (coach)
🇬🇧 Euan "Tadpole" Ingram (manager)
