DarkZero entering RLCS 2022-23 with a bang
As we near the end of rostermania in NA, another organization, DarkZero, want skin in the game. They will be acquiring Pierre "Turbopolsa" Silfver, Kadin "Zineel" Zineelabidine, and Jacob "JPow" Powell for the RLCS 2022-23 season. Although many speculated that Turbopolsa might be retiring due to how close it was to roster lock, the four-time world champion hopes to raise that trophy one more time with new talent on his side.
When the offseason began, Zineel was one of the more desirable talents, with many believing he would end up on a significantly contending roster. His display of talent with torrent in AAA Challenger Series - Super Event 2 granted them a first-place finish and put them on the radar as the next breakout team. However, the squad parted ways, leaving Zineel to find another roster to prove his potential. His recent win in the Hoodyhoo 2v2 tournament is another reason to believe he is the best player in NA, as there is no better measure of skill than a late-night 2v2 tournament.
Although JPow has not been in the discussion for top talent in NA, his talent should not be overlooked. With standout performances in non-RLCS-related tournaments, his mechanical prowess could be what catalyzes this squad. Unfortunately, his experience in the RLCS has been full of many woes. Although part of high-profile teams such as Stromboli and XSET, they have failed to meet their expectations. With the experience of seasoned veteran Turbopolsa and the raw skill of Zineel, hopefully, JPow can put on a show for the North American scene.
