Changes expected at Luminosity Gaming

The future of Luminosity Gaming is in jeopardy with all three members of the roster exploring their options heading into the offseason. While parts of the team could remain together, tryouts have already begun elsewhere. Sergio "AtomiK" Pérez Cortés is looking to partner up with Marc "MaRc_By_8." Domingo, Damian "Tox" Schäfer has been in contact with Evil Geniuses and Dylan "eekso" Pickering has been scrimming with Joseph "hibbs" Hibbert and Kurtis "Kash" Cannon in recent days.

Luminosity Gaming acquired eekso, Tox and AtomiK back in January 2022

Luminosity Gaming entered Rocket League Esports back in January 2022 with the signing of the ex-SK Gaming duo Tox and eekso, alongside Spanish star AtomiK. Expectations for the roster were high but ultimately the team struggled to break into Europe’s top echelons and did not qualify for either of the Winter or Spring majors. The roster ended the season as the ninth ranked team in Europe with 1210 points and subsequently finished three positions away from a spot at the RLCS 2021-22 World Championship. Yet, the team would get their chance on LAN by qualifying for Gamers8 2022 due to their affinity with the crew battles format. During the tournament they were able to beat G2 Esports before losing to Guild Esports and Complexity in the deciding matches to reach playoffs and exited the event in 9th-12th.

As a result of some of their lacklustre results this season, changes are expected at Luminosity Gaming. AtomiK has set his eyes on a partnership with MaRc_By_8 who was dropped from the Team BDS starting roster earlier this year. The duo are in pursuit of a full spanish roster.

Secondly, Tox has undergone a trial with the Evil Geniuses’ duo of Leonardo "Catalysm" Christ Ramos and Ivan "ivn" Sabri who are in need of a german-speaking replacement for Riccardo "Rizex45" Mazzotta. Rizex45 was removed from the starting lineup earlier this month after the team narrowly failed to reach the RLCS 2021-22 World Championship.

Lastly, eekso has begun scrimming with Hibbs and Kash following their own decisions to leave 00 Nation and Misfits Gaming respectively. Together the trio will participate at the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships as the male team for Esports England where they will come up against professional and amateur players from the likes of Wales, Australia and many other commonwealth nations.
