XSET bench Evoh and try out Turinturo
After a rough start of the season, XSET have decided to remove Jordan "Evoh" from the active roster. To replace him, the organization will be trying out Leonardo "Turinturo" Wilson in the Regain tournament for bubble teams.
The qualifying stage for the RLCS 2022-23 Fall Open was the first RLCS showing of Evoh alongside Jalen "rapid" Parker and Oliver "percy." Kenneth Ortiz for XSET, but it certainly wasn’t the start they had hoped for. XSET was seeded into the Top 16 Qualifier, where they went out with a quick 0-3 against G2, Rogue, and Akrew. This put them in the Closed Qualifier for a second chance at making it to the Main Event, but XSET exited the Swiss Stage in last place once again.
Evoh is just 15 years old, and has yet to gain experience in big tournaments. While he has shined in 1v1 show matches, his recent 3v3 performance leaves something to be desired. Over the 22 games XSET played in the RLCS qualifiers, Evoh’s Octane.gg rating averaged 0.65 - the lowest score in the event. Another poor result at the rle.gg Roster Royale this offseason indicates that Evoh clearly didn’t find his footing on the team.
With XSET missing out on the Fall Open, they were invited to play in Dillon "Rizzo" Rizzo’s Regain tournament. As the organization is looking for Evoh’s replacement, they signed up for this event with Turinturo instead of Evoh. Turinturo’s team Loco just missed out on a spot in the Closed Qualifier, and as such, the players might already be looking for new opportunities.
XSET’s new look for the future could be:
🇺🇸 Jalen "rapid" Parker
🇺🇸 Oliver "percy." Kenneth Ortiz
🇺🇸 Leonardo "Turinturo" Wilson
🇺🇸 Jordan "Evoh" (benched)
🇨🇦 Trey "Trey" Hubatsch (coach)
