Tundra to make their entry into Rocket League Esports

Tundra Esports are entering the Rocket League scene with the signing of European squad Top Blokes featuring Andy "Kassio" Landais, David "Rezears" Wünsch, Riccardo "Rizex45" Mazzotta and coach Sandro "FreaKii." Holzwarth.

Founded in 2019, Tundra Esports has a growing international reputation in the esports community. Originally built with a focus on FIFA, the London-based organization grew rapidly, bringing onboard partners such as TikTok. In 2021, Tundra Esports expanded to Dota 2 and has since become a household name in the MOBA, winning a number of titles and appearing at the PGL Arlington Major. The organization has also qualified for The International (TI) 2022, one of the biggest and well-known competitions in esports. In recent months, Tundra Esports unveiled professional footballer Virgil Van Dijk as a new ambassador and shareholder of the organization, a sign of Tundra’s growing prominence in esports. To mark Virgil Van Dijk signing, the organisation created the first gaming grime anthem called OUTPLAYED, created by Tundra’s first ambassador P Money, a British grime MC, rapper and songwriter. With teams in Fortnite and Dota 2, Tundra Esports are expected to make Rocket League their third esports title with the signing of Top Blokes.

Top Blokes formed in September 2022 after Rizex45 and Rezears teamed with former SMPR Esports player Kassio. The team was quick to bring FreaKii onboard as coach, following his retirement from professional play after five years of competition. In spite of their 0-3 record in the Top 16 invitational qualifier, Top Blokes managed to reach the RLCS 2022-23 Fall Open with a 3-1 record in the weaker closed qualifier, beating the likes of HEET and Soniqs. Their opening game of the season under the Tundra Esports banner will be against G1 in the main event of the Fall Open.

The Tundra Esports roster will consist of:

  • 🇫🇷 Andy "Kassio" Landais

  • 🇩🇪 David "Rezears" Wünsch

  • 🇩🇪 Riccardo "Rizex45" Mazzotta

  • 🇩🇪 Sandro "FreaKii." Holzwarth (coach)
